Release Notes

Main features

Optimizations for intersections

The main purpose of this release was to further optimize rendering performance by skipping object intersections with other sheets. From now by default an object's sheets will only intersect its own sheets and never other static or dynamic sheets. This is the usual scenario since objects will never bump into other sheets when using collision detection.

Many of you have been asking for proper documentation, so here it goes. Check out the Documentation tab!

I've also included examples for all of the documented features in a new downloadable zip file (, this could even be a better guide than the reference documentation.

Some minor API changes and bug fixes are also included.

Reviews for this release

Sheetengine is an amazing display engine for creating isometric worlds. While it's still early days, there's a lot of potential here for something amazing. It really proves that even without WebGL, the browser is now more than capable of making the kinds of games that were classics from the the 16bit era. Big respect to Levente for this amazing tool!

Very good engine, it works nicely and requires very little effort to use and extend. Documentation is good too, although the best is the discussions support, nice job!

Simple and nice. It does what it needs with elegance. There is room for improvements but it's a great tool already.
